DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

 The fundamental skills health, fitness, productivity and critical thinking are considered to be the four essential skills need to be developed to succeed at anything. If a student masters these abilities, he will be better prepared for anything and everything in his life.  The Department of Physical Education takes this holistic task and tries to improve a variety of fundamental skills through games, challenges and team building activities.

The CSSR&SRRM Degree & PG College has a separate Physical Education Department. It was started in the year 1992. The Department has the facilities including playing ground, volley ball court, Kho-Kho field and indoor facilities like table tennis, carrom, chess and gym.

The Department of Physical Education has adequate resources.

    The department organizes games and sports activities like Kho-Kho, Volley Ball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Chess, Best Physique, Taekwondo, Fencing, Athletics, etc. The College has a fully equipped gymnasium with state-of-the-art facilities. 

      The department is quite active in participating in various Inter-Collegiate Tournaments, State Level Tournaments, South Zone Inter-University Tournaments and All India Inter-University Tournaments.

      The department has been very active in promoting the significance of physical education and organizing various tournaments. The department in coordination with Yogi Vemana University (Directorate of Physical Education) organized various inter- collegiate tournaments. It   organized the Inter Collegiate Tournaments during the academic years 2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16 and 2016-17.  The Department of Physical Education also organized State Level Tournaments during the years 2015-16 and 2016-17.


VISION

The Department of Physical Education intends to produce excellent physically and mentally sound citizens with commitment to community in particular and country in general.

OBJECTIVES

  • To train students to become life time learners in the areas of physical fitness and sports skills.
  • To achieve a perfect balance between learning and sporting among students.
  • To develop discipline and team spirit through sports and games.
  • To impart training and coaching the students for various sports and games competitions.

 A SUCCESS STORY

Sports and games develop discipline and team spirit among students. Students are encouraged to participate in sports and games events by the Physical Education Department, at intramural, inter-collegiate, state and national levels.  The Department conducted the Inter-collegiate tournaments many a time in our college.

The Physical Education Department is trying incessantly to achieve a perfect balance between learning and sporting. With the constant encouragement and support extended by the Physical Director, our students proved in the sport track which is highly laudable and they have brought many laurels to our college. For the first time our Student Mr. K. Narayana Rao, the student of III B.Com (Gen) won the FIRST Gold Medal to the Y.V. University in the All India Inter-university Power lifting Championship - 66 KG’s at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh during the year 2015-16.

B. NARAHARI, B.Sc., M.P.Ed.,

Head, Dept. of Physical Education.

Mr. Nara Hari is a disciplined and dedicated coach.  He is very much interested in Kho-Kho, Volley Ball, Ball badminton and Kabaddi. He has been appointed twice as a Manager for Kho-Kho Team (Men) by the Yogi Vemana University 2015-16 and 2016-17 and also appointed as a Manager for Taekwondo Team (Women) by   the Yogi Vemana University in 2015-16.  He has also been assigned the position as a Manager for Soft Ball Team (Women) by the Yogi Vemana University in the year 2016-17.
